Blog Celebration Thanks (last day to enter)
Thanks to everyone who has joined in over the past couple of weeks - it has been a lot of fun and this weekend I will draw the three winners.
I wish I had enough to send everyone a box. I hope that you have learned some new things or enjoyed some of the stories that others have shared during the celebration. For those of you who did sign up for the Newsletter there were a few technical difficulties at the service I am using but I should be able to get the first issue out next week.
I meant for this post to go out earlier - but I was distracted by the arrival of my new Cricut Explore. I saw the truck and ran out with my camera. The good-natured UPS man posed for me (even though I think he thought I was a little crazy!).
I have one last item for each box - stitched letters that spell out "thank you" from Papyrus.
They all are intact as they go into the boxes but I have a warning (and a little life lesson) for you.
I got these from a store that was clearing out older stock, and I have had them a while. Some of the foam adhesive dots have lost their stickiness. It doesn't really matter - you can just peel off the foam and adhere them with new adhesive. I used some ScorTape.
The point is that you should use your "treasures" and when you use them and share your projects you will bring joy to others and you will also have room to bring in new things to use for your projects. (That sounds like a license to shop, doesn't it!)
Here are the boxes with all of the goodies. Since I didn't get to post this until dinnertime and many of you won't see it until the feed goes out in the morning, you have until the end of the day tomorrow (Saturday, March 1st) to leave your comments. I will draw the winners Sunday and post them on Monday.
How do you play along in the blog celebration giveaway?
To enter for a chance to win one of the three boxes - see all of the details on the first blog celebration post HERE. Then come back and get your comments in on this post. Remember, if you sign up for the new newsletter (see the box at the top right of the page) I will be choosing one person from the subscribers as a box winner (you don't need to leave a comment here since I can see that list).
Today's question to answer in your comment is really more of a challenge -
Look around at your supplies and find something that has been sitting around for a long time. Decide on a way that you can use it - and do it! Tell me in your comment what you discovered and how you plan to use it. Be sure to keep a photo of your finished project - I'll have a link up day in two weeks when you can share what you did. Two weeks - the Ides of March!
Thanks again for all of the lovely comments and ideas that you shared during the celebration. Have a great weekend. I will be testing out my new machine and getting a review together. So far I am very happy with it. Did you see the tiny circles cut in the mat of the card? Now that's what I'm talking about!

I have so many kits that have not been used yet. The one I am chomping at the bit to use is the Club Scrap Lock & Key kit. I will take it out this weekend and make some lovely stuff to show you! Thanks for a chance to win on your blog.
ReplyDeleteDiane, your UPS man is thinking you are stalking him! Enjoy your new toy, and let us know how it goes working on line with the Cricut. Thanks for the chance to win one of the boxes!
ReplyDeleteI've always love my Cameo Ladies stamp...made a few cards with her recently.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to your cricut review. I've always envied the silhouette and cameo users for having a machine that cuts such beautiful intricate designs. Always been more of a cricut fan.
This post came at just the right time: I was packing up to go on a scrapbook retreat yesterday and came across some cork strips that I had forgotten all about buying! I will be using it on a layout as bark for a tree. I think it will add just the right texture.
ReplyDeleteAgain, congrats on your anniversary! I hope you will continue to keep writing and sharing for a very long time!
I have some vellum that I got at a secondhand scrapbooking store and I've been dying to try it on a pastel colored Christmas card. I think soft colors would look pretty with the vellum. I'm not even sure I have the right pastel cardstock on hand, so I may have to go shopping just so I can use that vellum--but I'm determined to do it! Thanks for all your lessons, tutorials, advice and inspiration. Your blog is one of the best!
ReplyDeleteI have had some bottle caps forever! I think I will try to make some decorated magnets out of them. Love your blog!!!
ReplyDeleteOh man this is going to be a tough challenge. Guess I will use up some 3D stickers that I purchased years ago. Maybe I should scrapbook a puppy page with the cute Jolee stickers. Since my puppy is 3
ReplyDeleteThank you for the chance to win an awesome box full of treasures.

I found a Clear Scraps mini album that I forgot I had. Since I've recently learned some new techniques, I am going to experiment with those and just have some fun, then give it to my granddaughter.
ReplyDeleteI bought a box of stuff from Webster's a year ago and I have even opened it! Ghastly!!! I will create something from that box, actually, I will create several things from that box!!!!! Thanks for the inspiration
ReplyDeleteI just recently took out old and new embellishments . My Grand daughter and I decorated a mask for her gymnastics parade. She qualified for state....yahoo. If she hasn't demolished the mask I will post a picture...DawnRI
ReplyDeleteI noticed those circles right away and thought "oh man... she's used that new machine already." hip hip hooray. I just told myself today I must use ribbon more.. I have a pretty display of it..haha.
ReplyDeleteI recently read how you could melt down small pony beads to have them look like the colored enamel dots that are so popular right now. My son had some left over perler beads, so I thought I would give it a try and melt them. Unfortunately my first attempt was a fail, but I'm going to try again this weekend and change my oven temp a bit. My beads changed colors and became darker and not as vibrant.
ReplyDeleteThanks again for a great give away and I will be very interested in how you like both the machine and the software. Great looking circles!! Congrats on the anniversary!
ReplyDeleteToday IA found some pretty rhinestone embellishments which I had forgotten I had. Quickly added them to some cards I made. WOW---a great addition!
ReplyDeleteI used some Disney princess stickers I bought several years ago on a scrapbook page.
ReplyDeleteI have some kits that I need to use.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway. I've enjoyed all the different questions also.
You did a nice job on your Blog Anniversary , lots of fun ideas and can't wait to see what you have to share with the new Cricut Explore . Mine comes in 3 weeks I hope :) . What I need to use from my stash of stuff would be these really cool puffy paint pens. I bought them at a craft show and never opened them. I will need to figure out what to do with them LOL Have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteI need to use some of my brads and bling that were buried in a drawer. I also have tons of digital kits I have collected but am timid about learning all the layers and commands in Photoshop Elements. Need to dedicate a weekend to digital scrapbooking.
ReplyDeleteSadly I have some blog hop stuff I won that I don't use but have let my grandson use on cards he likes to make!

I have some sheets of copper metal (Art Emboss). Hopefully I can think of some way to use the copper on a card.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this opportunity. The boxes look awesome.
Have a wonderful and enjoyable weekend.

I would have to say the thing I could use more is chip board as I have LOTS of it.
ReplyDeleteI have a lot of stickers and bling in a box and I'm going to make cards to send to the soldiers that are still in Afghanistan, one young lady that I would send APO boxes told me that that was something they don't have available to the soldiers. Thanks for all the inspiration!!
ReplyDeleteI have tons of stickers and I have no idea what to do with them. Well might as well take them to school and give them to the kids :)
ReplyDeleteThanks you again for making us part of your blog anniversary.
I finally found some missing bottle caps to make school magnets. Looking forward to reading about your adventures with the Explore. Thanks again for the fun.
ReplyDeleteI have a set of Perfect Pearls powders that I really need to give a try. I did use them once or twice, but I really need to practice a bit and put them to more use! The boxes are amazing, and thank goodness you have a friendly UPS guy, as that picture is adorable! bmarczak68atverizondotnet
ReplyDeleteI love the pic of your UPS driver and I'm sure you were the highlight of his day!
ReplyDeleteI have a neighbor who is a Hospice Chaplin. She has a support group that meets 2 x a month. One of the activities they do a couple of times a year is to have each person bring several pictures of their loved one. Since she knows nothing about scrapbooking, she asked if I would help her. I said I would be happy to, then she said well I wasn't going to do it if you couldn't because I wouldn't know where to begin...LOL! I started digging through my things and have so many die cuts, emblishments, etc that I forgot about. I have a ton of things for this upcoming session. I did this last fall and it was a hit! Surprising to me, the men were awesome!
I have a calendar kit that I've had for a few years. I keep meaning to make it for a present but run out of time. I think I will start it with June. (Who says calendars have to be jan to dec?)
ReplyDeleteThanks for this fun month. I have always enjoyed your blog but rarely comment. I like reflecting on my crafting obsession.
I just yesterday, found some rub ons and thought to myself that I should try something with them. Surprisingly it will not be a paper craft though.
ReplyDeleteThank you for all the chances to win one of your fabulous prize boxes.
I have some 3D stamps that I thought I might try to recreate with my Cricut but have never gotten around to it. Maybe I will just go ahead and use them for something. Thanks for the sharing and the ideas, this has been a fun week. For the record, I think our UPS man and the postman think I'm a nut too. :)
ReplyDeleteI have some Spellbinder dies that I haven't used in a long time. I think I'll try making some cards with some of them.
ReplyDeleteI have Inkadinkadoo Stamping Gear and several sets of stamps. bought years ago. I don't think I have ever used them on a project. I think it's about time.
ReplyDeleteI found some small candy containers. I plan to fill them with jelly beans and do something Easter with them and send them to my Nieces and Nephews. They love when I make and send them surprises.
ReplyDeleteOh yea, why are those UPS guys so darn cute! HAHAHA
Thanks so much for the videos and the great information.

Funny you should ask about what we have not used in a long time. I was looking at my old wood block stamps and thought I should go through those and see what I can use. Congrats on 6 years!
ReplyDeleteI found and old chipboard lace together kit I purchased years ago. I think I will use it for my grand daughters second birthdsy pictures. Would make a lovely fold out display for a very special angel. Glad u finally got ur cricut explore. Have fun learning how to use it. Thanks for all ur ideas , etc. U r truly amazing.
ReplyDeleteYour UPS guy is good-natured and he looks cute too.

I rarely use stickers and I have a drawer full of them! Yesterday I pulled one out along with the coordinating paper I had set aside to use with it and made a sympathy card. It turned out very nice and was happy I finally used some of my old stash.

I have so enjoyed designing and cutting a variety of items on the silhouette that I haven't used my stamps and inks in a long, long time!
ReplyDeleteIn the process of making a better storage system for my paper I cut flat boxes on a diagonal to make 12x12 magazine file boxes, only for paper. I covered them all in kraft wrapping paper and while going through my stash of scrapbook paper came across some Graphic 45 paper I forgot I had. I used that to decorate the outside edges of all the boxes and they turned out great. I love them. The Graphic 45 paper so inspired me that I ordered a few more different sets!! Isn't that how it goes? I've really enjoyed your 2 week celebration! It's been a lot of fun and very informative. Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteSo excited your Explore came and you are playing! Can't wait for your reviews. I have tons of stickers that I rarely use. Think I'll pull out some of those and see what I can make. Congrats on the anniversary and the chance to win a wonderful box of goodies!
ReplyDeleteHi Diane,
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for your honest opinion on the Explore. I viewed all your video tutorials before I finally subscribed...always useful information...just the facts. As for your question, that would have to be specialty paper...can't seem to part with it, but I did bring it out a couple weeks ago to finally put it to use...we'll see what happens.
My husband just helped me move all of my scrapbooking stuff out of our basement family room and in to the bedroom in the basement. My daughter has been on her on for a long time, her and her family only stay once a year. It's hard to say what I would use, but I think maybe it will be some of my stamps. I have so many and never use them. I guess that means making some cards. Thanks again for the celebration.
ReplyDeleteI found some very, very old Easter/Spring papers and stickers that I used to create some very cute Easter things for the grandkids! It's lovely how paper doesn't go out of style! Thanks for your reviews of the Explore. Looking forward to seeing more. Thanks for making up these boxes of goodies! Whether I win or not I'm learning a lot and I appreciate it greatly!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations again on you blogaversary!
ReplyDeleteI have been looking at boat loads of beautiful patterned paper...I am planning to cut them into LONG and THIN triangles and make paper beads out of them. I have been inspired by a blogger and I am going to do it.
Valerie
I look forward to seeing all that you do with your new machine! I have tried many of your ideas and look forward to this new challenge. I find that Christmas paper can be use all year long. When cut into delicate flourishes and lacey patterns, the holiday theme disappears, but the lovely colors are still present. Even knowing that, I am still surprised at the finished products. Congratulations on the Blogiversary. But more importantly, Thank You for sharing your many talents and insights!

I realize I have a lot of embossing folders that I haven't used since trying them out once when I got them. I think I'll try to emboss small die cut shapes rather than just using the whole folder (A2 size) for a card front. Thanks as always for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI have some kits to do and some embossing folders I have not used. So I know there is a project there.
