Design Doodles

Today I am finally starting to feel a bit better - thank goodness.  It seems like I get a cold every year after the holidays.  I may even venture out to my favorite craft store tomorrow if it isn't too cold.

I spent some time "doodling" in the Silhouette software and made some designs that are Valentine inspired.  I have screen shots of a couple of them to share.  When I have done test cuts and assembled the cards I may have a file or two to share.

Sometimes I just draw shapes and move them into different patterns to see what happens.  They don't always work as cutting files but I love to just make interesting designs.  This is one of my favorite things to do - particularly when I am under the weather and don't have enough energy to actually make projects.

If there is enough interest, I am thinking about teaching a few classes on creating your own designs in the Silhouette software.  I know that many people prefer to buy designs because they have limited time to create.  However, if you are interested in learning more about making your own designs, please leave a comment to let me know.

It looks like we will finally be above freezing on Friday - and in the 50's on Saturday.  Such crazy weather!  I am already looking forward to Spring!

  2. I would be interested in learning about designing with the Silhouette. I got a Cameo for Christmas but haven't had time to play with it much. You taught me alot about using Cricut Design Studio & I thank you for that.

  7. Teaching creating your own designs...hmmm. Are you referring to teaching and internet class or in person? I would be interested in something over the internet because I know I'm not close to you - I am in Wisconsin where it's going to get above freezing on Friday!!! A virtual heatwave from the last couple of weeks of getting down to 50 degrees below with windchill!

  10. I would enjoy knowing more about the designing process on the silhouette. So far all I've done is cut the pre-designed images etc.

  11. Hi Diane, I would be interested in learning how to create my own designs. I've been reading your blog for a long time. You inspired me to try to create some in the old, old Cricut sfw, but I kept having issues and I gave up. I think Silhouette's software is a little easier to use, I'm just running into a creative roadblock and could use some inspiration.

  13. I would be very interested in seeing some videos about creating your own designs in the Silhouette software. I've done a little of that myself, but I'm fairly new to the Silhouette. Used to do it occasionally in Cricut Design Studio and Cricut Craft Room.
