Today we honor the men and women who have served in the US Armed Forces. The date of November 11 was chosen because the armistice that ended World War I was signed on that date. This date is celebrated in many other countries and is sometimes called Armistice Day, Remembrance Day or Poppy Day.
My father and uncle both served in World War II. Dad is the one on the left in both of the photos above. Dad was sent over just as the war was ending and he served as a guard at the Nuremburg trials.
Thank you to all of those who have served and who continue to serve our country.
