An Enabling Post (don't miss this!)
After a very busy weekend I have been catching up on my email (or at least trying to) and there are a few special deals I want to let you know about...
Lettering Delights is having a "Monster Sale" with nearly 300 products on sale for $1 ($2 for Cut-It Sets). There are lots of great sets on sale - you can check out the sale items by clicking HERE. There is one thing you should pay attention to - sometimes the 'bundle prices" will be more than the total of the individual set prices when there is a sale so check carefully before you add a bundle to the cart.
While I was doing a little shopping, I noticed these pretty leaves. When I stopped to read what was included in the "Back to Basics Big Bunch of Graphics" I discovered an amazing deal! This set of 353 shapes is listed at a regular price of $35.00 and on sale for just $1. These are graphics, not cutting files, but the shapes are easily traced in the Silhouette Studio program - it takes less than a minute to turn any of the shapes into a cutting file.
Here are a few more screenshots of just some of the shapes included in this set - there are many more and you can see them all HERE.
Don't miss out on this amazing deal if you use a Silhouette or another machine with software that allows you to trace shapes and create cutting files. You can make these shapes into layered files with a few simple steps. (If you don't know how to do this leave a comment to let me know and I will add a post with directions).
Have fun browsing through the Monster Sale items - there are a lot of cute things for Halloween. Don't forget to pick up the monthly freebies too! Click HERE to start shopping. The sale has been going on for a week already and I am not sure when it will end.
(the image at the tops of this post is a little doodle I made using the spider from the "Back to Basics Big Bunch of Graphics" - with these basic shapes you have endless possibilities!)
The other shopping opportunity is the just released Close to my Heart Holiday Gift Guide. I love those rosette trees on the cover. There are some beautiful Christmas items and also some everyday items included in this catalog. My friend Joy Tracey is a CTMH consultant and you can see the entire catalog HERE on Joy's website. You'll find the items listed HERE for shopping.
This set called Magical Days is a must have for me - it will be great for making an advent calendar but many of the numbers are not exclusively holiday designs and could be used for birthday cards or other projects.
Also included in the Gift Guide is this very useful set called "Banner Wishes." This is perfect for quick and easy cards for many occasions.
Here is the best news - if you spend $100 on items in the regular catalog and/or the holiday book, you will get a FREE item of your choice from the starred items in the Gift Guide (and the Magical Days set of numbers is one of the choices - normally $17.95).
If you have been thinking about buying one of the CTMH Cricut Collections, you just need to add one more small item to your cart and you will be prompted to add a free item. You will also qualify to buy two of the Stamp of the Month sets for just $5 each (regular price $17.95).
The stamp of the month set this month is particularly nice - it is called Scandinavian Wishes. If you got the second set for an additional $5 when you spend over $100, it would make a nice gift for a friend.
I am hosting an online Gathering on Joy's CTMH site that ends this Friday at midnight. Please click to join my Gathering if you decide to do some shopping before Friday - thanks!
We were lucky to be invited to the Red Sox game on Sunday night. It was a late night but worth the wait when the team finally tied the Tigers in the eighth inning and went ahead in the ninth to win. One of the most important things happened much earlier in the evening, when the National Anthem was led by a group of children including Jane Richard, the little girl who lost her eight year old brother and her leg in the bombings at the Boston Marathon last April.
I've always been fascinated by the way the ball field grass is cut to make a pattern and on Sunday night they had cut the Red Sox "B" and the word "Strong" into the outfield.
Have a wonderful Wednesday!

I would love a post that explains how to make a cutting file for the Silhouette from a graphics file. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteHi Carrie, I am planning on doing this. Do you prefer a step by step words and screenshots post or a video? I might do both!
DeleteI believe I know how to make a cutting file for the Silhouette from a graphics file. However, I'm not sure I know how to make the graphics into layered files and would love to see a post on that. Thanks very much. Debby L.
ReplyDeleteThanks Debby - I will be sure to add some posts to help you see the process (it isn't difficult) in the next few weeks.
