Vintage Halloween with Twisted Papers

Vintage images are a great source of inspiration and one of my favorite sources for them is Twisted Papers.  Russell and Stan recently updated their site to make it easier to navigate and they have added lots of other great features to help you find just the right image for your project.  There are more than 10,000 downloadable images, over 850 digital collage sheets, 43 CDs and a DVD available on the site.

I used some classic Halloween images for these two projects.  Step by step directions for making this Halloween Lantern are HERE.  This basic design can easily be adapted to other holidays.

The images on these cards are also from Twisted Papers.  I thought it was interesting to find out that people used to say "Merry" Halloween as well as "Happy" Halloween.  You can read the details about these cards HERE.

The vintage images and original artwork are organized into galleries and the final gallery is where you can find the monthly free image sheet.  September's free collage sheet is shown above.  You should be sure to subscribe to their newsletter to know what's new in the store and to receive the monthly free download.  They also have a Facebook Page HERE and you can find information  about new products and occasional bonus freebies there so be sure to "like" the page.  Links to the newsletter sign up and Facebook page are on the left side of the website home page.

There are so many things you can do with vintage images.  Sometimes I simply print them for part of my project.  Other times I try out different ways to transform an image to make it look very different, like this star made from a cornucopia image.

There is a special deal this month to celebrate the new website.  You can add 10 downloadable items to your cart and get the five lowest priced items FREE at checkout.   The code for this deal is BUY5GET5 - be sure to click the "apply" button to use this promotion.

I have a special request for you today...

Russell just had spinal fusion surgery and has been in a great deal of pain.  He is slowly recuperating and is currently in skilled care doing physical and occupational therapy.  It would be wonderful if we could send lots and lots of cards to support both Stan and Russell during this difficult time.   (I am sure they would particularly enjoy cards made with images from the store!).

If you are already a customer or fan of Twisted Papers, or if you would just like to help brighten the recovery process, you can find the address to send a card on the Twisted Papers Facebook page (send me a message if you aren't a Facebook user and I will send you the address).  Russell's last name is White.

Thanks so much for helping.  Please leave a comment if you plan to send a card and you may just get a little freebie from me too!
