I found a few photos to share...
The happy little girl with a cake half her size is me on my fourth birthday.
Here I am at 21 - and yes, it is the same cake pedestal. Our family tradition was that all birthday cakes were served from this cake stand. The special serving piece made the cakes taste just a little bit better. The candles are lined up to make a "21" on the cake.
This photo is from 2010 and the cake is on a flat plate but it still tasted delicious!
I've added photos of several of the birthday cards I've made over the past few years - click any of the images to see the original posts.
What kinds of cards do you make the most often? Birthday, Thank You, Congratulations, Just Because... What is your favorite type of card to make?

Hi Donna - that is very fancy! I always have to find a cheat sheet to get those special symbols. I am glad you enjoyed the cards - there are lots more if you search for the label for birthday cards.

ReplyDeleteThank you so much - it makes me happy to hear the people enjoy the things that I post.
DeleteBest wishes for a wonderful birthday. Enjoy your evening out to dinner. I mostly make birthday cards. It's a tie between StampinUp cards and my Cricut. I love them both. I just won a Silhouette Portrait, but haven't opened the box yet.
ReplyDeleteI won a Portrait, too, Mary Ann, and I have only tried it once. This dog may be too old for new tricks.
DeleteMaryAnn - thank you for the birthday wishes. I have been thinking about you. Making cards is a good way to keep busy. I'll have to convince you to get that Portrait out and start using it - I am happy that you won it since you do so much for others with your crafting.
DeleteBobby - you really do need to spend a little time with it but once you get going I am sure you will love it! Just let me know if you have questions.
DeleteHappy Birthday Diane. May all your wishes come true for the coming year.

DeleteHope you had a fun birthday! I make more birthday cards throughout the year, but probably more Christmas cards all at one time! Love your ideas, and your blog. BethAnn M.
ReplyDeleteHi Beth Ann - thanks for the birthday wishes. I am happy to hear that you enjoy my blog. Christmas cards are more of a production line type of cardmaking - sometimes fun but if you have a long list it can be a daunting task!
DeleteHi Diane, and belated very Happy Birthday wishes. Hope you've enjoyed extended birthday celebrations with friends and family. Thanks for the beautiful birthday card ideas, love all your ideas and your blog. My birthday was end of July, so we're both cancers. Happy to see more followers with Silhouette machines, hope to see more project ideas using this great machine! Take care, Jan
ReplyDeleteThank you Jan. Happy Birthday to you (at the end of July). I will be showing a lot more with the Silhouette machines and software very soon - I really enjoy that machine!
DeleteHappy Birthday Diane!! I hope your day brought as much enjoyment to you, as you bring to all of us, as your share your talents. I wish you many many more! (Birthdays AND projects!) I started out primarily as a scrapbooker, but have recently begun to make more cards. However, I am so picky that even simple cards take lots of time---hopefully I learn to let go of some of that! Happy Day!
ReplyDeleteShellee (In CO)
Hi Shellee - Thanks for the birthday wishes! I know what you mean about being picky - sometimes things come together quickly and sometimes nothing seems to "work" - just allow yourself to make some cards that aren't "masterpieces" and move on! (easier said than done)
