It's been a very hectic few days. I was able to have a nice visit with my Dad last week. He is in the rehab area now and working on the physical therapy to get strong enough to go back to his regular apartment. I wasn't able to get time on the computer to put up some of the posts I had planned for the weekend.
The drive back and forth to Pennsylvania is always tiring and I needed to regroup. We had lots to catch up on around the house and to top it off there is a "Frankenstorm" (aka Hurricane Sandy) headed our way! I went back and added the posts last night so you can scroll back a few days and catch up if you'd like. There is one tip that I think you'll find particularly helpful if you struggle with choosing fonts.
I hope that we will be north of the areas with the worst impact but there have been lots of warnings about potential power outages. If we lose power, I'll have to craft the "old fashioned" way without computers and electric die cut machines, and blog about it later. Time to pull out the dies and hand cranked machines - or even your scissors...
To all of my friends, family and readers along the Eastern seaboard - stay safe! I hope that the predictions will turn out to be worse than reality and that there is not a lot of damage. If you live in an area that could flood be sure to get your photos and albums up to a higher level if possible!
I hope we can still have Halloween trick or treating. There is entirely too much candy in the house right now and I need to give it away!

Here in Ohio we are supposed to get some rain and snow later today or tomorrow. Hope you stay safe. Hope you can do a little crafting while the power is still on :)

ReplyDeleteWhen you first posted your car wash pictures last spring, I loved them so much I went to the car wash a couple days later to get my own pictures. I was in line and when the attendant told me I could leave the car now, I said I didn't want to and he said I must. I thought I was at one that you stayed in the car for just an outside quick wash. Boy was that attendant surprised when I said I didn't need the wash after all. LOL! I've never tried again. Maybe today.
I am happy that you had a safe and successful trip, and your Dad is making progress! Please stay safe in the coming week. Since there will likely be no electrically powered entertainment, crafting "the old fashined way" will be just the way to pass the time! Please stay safe!

I'm in PA to Diane, not sure where bouts you are, but we are in Central PA and our county is one that is supposed to get hit hard by Sandy. I hope that you are safe where you are. For now we still have power, keeping fingers crossed but don't have much confidence. We do have a generator thank God. Glad that your dad is doing better and getting therapy. Take care and stay safe!
ReplyDeleteStay safe and If you do scrap the old fashione way be sure to post when you can . I believe those posts would be very inspirational. Here in Tennessee we usually get heavy rain and wind from the southern storms. We have had tornados come all around us with downed trees , fence sections and roofing damage. Wejust put a metal roof on our house to try and prevent some of that damage.
