Always Remember
Today is a day to remember all of those who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks eleven years ago. On that terrible day we lost Alexander Filipov, a beloved member of our church and community who was killed when Flight 11 crashed into the first tower at the World Trade Center.
Al believed that an individual, acting on principles, can make a profound difference in the world. Each September, our church sponsors the Al Filipov Peace and Justice Forum and invites a distinguished individual to speak about his or her work and vision.
This year, the Al Filipov Peace and Justice Forum will be held on Wednesday, September 19th. The speaker will be John Hockenberry, host of The Takeaway, a nationally syndicated daily public radio news program. You can read more about the Forum at http://www.alfilipov.org/
I hope we all can take the time today to pause and reflect on how we can work for peace and social justice in our lives, in our communities, and in the world.

Amen to that. Remembering the husband of a dear friend today, and all others who were lost.
ReplyDeletePraying for the world to come to PEACE and for the family of a former student whose husband was killed in Tower 2.
