Wood Piecing to Paper Piecing

We are winding up our time in Cape Cod.  I wanted to share this photo of an interesting pieced wood picture that was hanging in a local restaurant.  I think it would be fun to make something similar from paper and some twine - maybe I'll try when I am home again.  Does anyone else want to take on the challenge?

The entire picture might be more than I have time to take on but the boat would be nice for a card or a scrapbook page layout.  It is made from a few basic shapes with a couple of curved pieces that shouldn't be hard to create.

I also wanted to let you know that Cosmo Cricket is retiring their line of digital papers and embellishments that have been available through JessicaSprague.com.  They have over 100 items in the shop and there is a 50% off retirement sale which will end on Sunday, July 22nd.  You can find all of the products HERE.  There are some great designs and I don't know if they will be available elsewhere in the future.  I will definitely be filling in my collection of their designs.  I use their papers and images with both my Creative Memories StoryBook Creator 4.0 software and the Silhouette Design Studio software for print and cut projects like this card.

We have been lucky to have beautiful (but very hot) weather here.  There may be rain tomorrow and we do need the rain so I won't complain.  I hope you are keeping cool - I think most of the US has had quite a heat wave.

Have you been checking out all of the news from CHA?  Any favorites to share?  I'll be playing catch up to see everything once our family time is over - first things first!  I have one more piece of good news.  My Dad will be moving back to his regular apartment - he'll still get physical therapy but the stay in the rehab area is finally over.  Thanks again for all of your thoughts and prayers for him.

  2. Hi Diane, first things first... three cheers for your Dad!!!! Yoohoo! Glad to hear this. I am up for the challenge for the boat and pier scene. I think it would be a very nice masculine card. I will print and try something. Enjoy the rest of your vacation. The heat wave here in Ottawa, Canada is finally breaking, today is a beautiful sunny day with no humidity.
    Hugs.

  4. Glad to hear that your dad is doing well enough to return to his apartment!

That paper piecing would be TOO challenging for me to take on! But the wood pieced picture is fabulous!
