Our first full day at the Cape was a lovely hot day. We checked out a couple of beaches - Duck Harbor on the bay side and Marconi Beach on the ocean side. The colors at the seaside are so beautiful with so many shades of blue.
The waves on the ocean side were just right for jumping and there were a few more adventurous people on surfboards.
There is a flag system to indicate conditions - Saturday was green with small waves. The lifeguards keep an eye out for any swimmers who overestimate their skills!
We are lucky to have both of our sons and my husband's parents with us. Our younger son and his girlfriend will need to leave after tomorrow to get back to their jobs.
I discovered that the flavored water bottles from Costco have a base that makes a pretty floral design.
I woke up early this morning and did a bit of photo editing. I was using my "purse camera" but I may switch to my DSLR because I am used to looking through a viewfinder to frame and focus my shots. I did have a little fun taking this photo and creating some background paper in my StoryBook Creator 4.0 software (still on sale for $48.71 - 25% off, until July 25th).
I have one quick shopping tip for you. I received an email from Dover Publishing with a special offer. You can get a book of Art Nouveau stencil designs free with any order. They have lots of books on sale right now so you can probably find something else you like at a good price. Add the Art Nouveau book to your cart and use the coupon code BK67 at checkout and the cost of the book will be deducted. (I do not have any affiliation with Dover - I just love their products). The offer is good only until Monday, July 16th.
I hope you are having a nice weekend. We are going to a flea market today - I wonder what we will find!

Hi,
ReplyDeleteALthough I am usually a frequenter of card making blogs, I do enjoy yours so much especially when you highlight the designs and colors you find in natural beauty, city structures or whatever - but especially of nature. It just reminds me to go out and enjoy our beautiful earth that God gave us. So thank you!

Hi Diane, love the pics and the design in the sand from the water bottle look like sand dollars. It's amazing what you did with the storybook creator and your pic.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your family vacation.

Claire
I'm loving your CC posts. Marconi beach is one of my favorites. I'm so excited to be going there next week!
ReplyDeleteI think the imprint left by the water bottles also looks a little like a sand dollar shell!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful water pics, the colors were wonderful!
