My husband received a piece of mail from the Sappi Fine Paper North America paper company (he is in the printing business). He knew that I would particularly like this image and I wanted to share it with you. Does it give you some inspiration? I think I am more tuned in to this sort of thing after taking the Tim Holtz classes last month.
The company does a lot of education for graphic designers and other professionals and this printed piece was made to demonstrate some of the special effects that can be used in printing - and how the right paper makes them look better.
As you unfold the brochure, there are various "faces"
The images are so striking - it makes you want to find out more as you unfold each section.
I went to the company website and there are lots of interesting videos and information about printed communications. If you are interested and have a chance, watch a few of the videos The concept of augmented reality (combining print and digital media) is fascinating. Here is a LINK to the page.
I have been preoccupied with my Dad's health the past few days and also have come down with a bit of a cold myself (aren't colds always worse in the summer?). Dad was back in the hospital and we thought he was going to be discharged today but they are keeping him a bit longer. It's hard to be so far away - I am planning to go see him next week.
