Weekend Gardening

Happy Saturday!  It's a hot and muggy Memorial Day weekend here in Massachusetts.  I retreated to the cool lower level and my craftroom while my husband did lots of outdoor work.  I love gardens - I'm just not much good at working in them!

I did venture out to take a few photos of this amazing yellow iris that is blooming beside our patio.  The color is very intense.  Irises have such a voluptuous look with all of their curves and ruffles - they seem very exotic.

The view from the top is even more incredible.

When you crop the photo closely like this you can make wonderful background paper for a digital layout.

I have been test cutting some new designs on my Cameo - here is a sneak peek at one of them...

I hope you are having a great weekend - we are going to a barbeque tonight and I made some brownies "from scratch" using an old family recipe.  They smell amazing - nothing like a house filled with chocolate aroma!  I'll share the recipe in another post.

  3. As usual you take some amazing pictures! I don't have a green thumb, sad to admit :( but I do love that idea of using a digital picture you've taken as a background paper.
