So much to see

This is the sight that greeted the crowds entering the first day of the CHA Summer Show. The DCWV booth was just inside the main doors and this year instead of dresses they have Christmas trees decorated with various paper collections.

I had a very full day with several classes and events.  I need to get ready for tomorrow and get some sleep but I wanted to share a few photos to give you a taste of what I have been seeing.

This year some of the Designer members of CHA created mixed media fashions - there are all sorts of interpretations and I have more photos to share later.

If you wore this dress you'd always have a pair of scissors handy!

Craftwork Cards has more wonderful samples using their Card Candy - paper "brads" that add a great finishing touch to so many projects.

There was a crowd gathered around the La Blanche booth watching the artist color these intricate stamped images.  I have a lot more photos of the sample projects which were just as stunning as the ones in LA.

I saw Megan from Above Rubies Studio with her new Paper Layerz paper.  This paper is made by WorldWin and has nine blocks of coordinating color printed on the 12 by 12 sheets to make it quick and simple to cut out a multi layered shape in just the right colors.

La La Land Crafts has lots of new stamps for the holidays.

Here is the new Cricut Mini announced by Provo Craft on Tuesday.  It is a handy size (paper up to 8 1/2 x 12 inches) and cuts quietly but will only operate through the Cricut CraftRoom online design tool.

Erin from DCWV is  showing the project we made in her class - it is an Advent Calendar for Halloween!  This was a lot of fun to make and I'll share the directions after I go home.  You could do a more traditional Christmas calendar the same way.

It is very hot here and I have been inside most of the time but I just had to show you the amazing clouds and colors in the sky when I got back to the hotel after my last workshop of the day.  We are very close to the airport and can see planes arriving and departing frequently.

I hope you have a wonderful day - maybe the heat will start to go away so things can get back to normal.   If you have any particular questions that I might be able to have answered here at CHA please leave a comment and I will try to find an answer for you.

  2. It would be wonderful to visit CHA just once. However, I would be so tempted to buy more than I could take home. Speaking of questions, not necessarily for CHA, but maybe for your blog, would be: What is a good way to remember or keep track of all the wonderful things that each Cricut cartridge has to offer? Have a great day! Pam

  4. Diane, thanks for the pictures and info. After receiving this week's info about the Cricut Mini, I was wondering about the fact that it does have to be run through the online software. Does it still read the cartridges that you personally own? (Is is like the Gypsy, but larger?) Thanks, Debra (dj1952)

  6. Love the pics from CHA. Please keep them coming! Someday I hope to attend, but for now, seeing it through your eyes helps --and is MUCH cheaper for me! TFS!!

  7. Thanks for the updates but I do have a question. Does ProvoCraft really expect to sell the Cricut Mini and ONLY have it work with CraftRoom? What about the Gypsy?
