Wednesday I took my Dad to the dentist in Doylestown - a bit far from where he lives now but you know how hard it is to change once you are used to a certain dental practice. It turns out that this office is located directly across the street from the Mercer Museum. This was one of my favorite places to visit as a child and a frequent school field trip destination. I could go on and on to tell you about the amazing collections of Henry Chapman Mercer. Instead I'll give you this link to the Mercer and Fonthill Castle Museums. For old times sake, I wandered over to the gift shop for a quick look around while Dad had his checkup. I love to visit museum gift shops and often find interesting items there. I won't show you all of the things I discovered that I "had to have" (some are for gifts!), however, I thought this little chick pincushion from felted wool would be perfect for Easter week. If you take a close look you will see that the "wheels" are two thread spools and the chick is actually a pincushion.
The chick even came with three "starter pins" for a tail!
I imagine someone will send me a message to ask about the paper in the background. You can see it more clearly in this photo with a slightly blurry chick. I belong to the Taylored Expressions "Key Ingredients" subscription club and get a monthly box of cardmaking goodies. These papers were part of the March Kit and are from the My Mind's Eye Stella Rose - Gertie collection. There is a special blog for inspiration showing the kits in use called The Key Ingredients Blog

As a Cricut Circle member I have had a bit of a "sneak peek" at the new cartridges on Wednesday and I think that many of them will be very popular.

ReplyDeleteThat is such a cute chick! Very pretty background paper. I love Taylored Expressions, but have not yet been able to buy any. In part because I can't decide which stamp set to buy first lol. And the $1200 boiler repair doesn't help either lol. TFS :D
