Today is Palm Sunday - Easter is late this year and Spring has also been slow to arrive. We had a wonderful time Saturday at our son's Senior Project performance for his Music major. College graduation is now only a few weeks away and it feels like we just dropped him off for freshman year! The weather in New Jersey was incredibly windy and rainy so the event had to be held inside but it didn't matter - everyone had a great time.
In case you are still decorating eggs and making preparations for Easter, I wanted to share a few links and ideas from previous posts. We decorate emptied eggs so they can be kept from year to year. In THIS POST I have information about the tool I use to empty the eggs. I discovered this method when we lived in Germany and it is so much better than the "poke holes with a sewing needle and blow" method I used as a child!
I also collected a lot of painted and decorated eggs while we lived in Germany - you can see some of them HERE and some more in THIS POST.
I made these glittered eggs last year and I hope to have time to do a few more before next weekend. I have some new ideas and some new materials to try out. If you want to read about how I made these you can find the post HERE.
Here is one more fun project that I did a couple of years ago for an ATC swap. The eggs actually move around inside the window covered by the gingham transparency. You can find all of the details HERE.
Thanks to all of you who participated in the first "Discussion Day" post yesterday. I have added a new tab a the top of the page to make it easy to find these posts and add your thoughts whenever it is convenient for you. During the week that the post is new, I'll also add a link at the bottom of each daily post so you can quickly click over to see what others have to say on the topic of the week. There are some interesting insights shared and I hope to continue with topics that will make us all stop and think a bit each week and share our thoughts with each other.
I'll be in Pennsylvania for a few days - I have my "travel bug" with me so you will be seeing some new crafty projects...I might even get my Dad to help out with one or two!
Wow! Those are beautiful eggs! TFS
ReplyDeleteBeautiful eggs! I wish I had the time to play around with something like that. Cute card also. TFS!

ReplyDeleteHas a year gone by already. I remember these instructions like it was yesterday! Really love the moving eggs card. Don't remember seeing that one last year. What a lot of work went into it. Great job, Diane.

Those eggs are really lovely. I have "collected" a few that I've found that I've liked, but yours are sooo much nicer. I bet that concert was so beautiful. I love going to those types of concerts. I bet you were one proud mama. It would be great to see crafts from your dad. We could see how far the apple fell from the tree ;- ) Have a wonderful time with family and a super week.
ReplyDeleteThese eggs are wonderful. Yours is the first blog that I have seen that decorates real eggs too. I also have some on my blog. You can see them by clicking on the egg catagory on the side bar, if you would like. I am bookmarking your blog so I can check it out better.
