One more Valentine card...

I know that Valentine's Day has come and gone but I found this card sitting on my table and I thought I'd share it.  A few weeks ago, I posted a tutorial about how to make a scalloped heart if you didn't have a cartridge with one.

I made the card with this test cut of the scalloped heart - here is a LINK to the post that explains how to make your own.

The card base is red Martha Stewart cardstock cut at 12 x 6 inches and folded in half for a 6 x 6 card (larger than I usually make but the heart cut was large!).  I cut a layer at 5 3/4 inches square in white and a top layer at 5 1/2 inches square in a pretty heart paper from the K & Company - Kelly Panacci Valentine.  I embossed the heart with the Conversations Cuttlebug folder. The heart is raised with foam circles to add a little more dimension.

I used Precision Point adhesive on the trim layer - since the heart is embossed it is important to adhere the trim to the main heart image securely.

The card opens at the bottom.  I stamped the "Happy Valentine's Day" with a stamp from the dollar bin at Michael's.  I thought about adding gems or stickles on the white trim but I decided to keep it plain and show off the embossing - this is one of my favorite folders!

A couple of reminders...

If you are a Facebook user, please don't forget to go "like" Creative Charms on Facebook.  They are 21 away from 1,000 and are planning a big giveaway when they reach 1,000.  I have been working with the "deal of the month" kit and I will be posting my projects on Thursday.

If you use Creative Memories StoryBook Creator Plus 3.0 the last day to order the digital content that is on sale for 50% off is Wednesday, February 16th.  The theme is engagement and wedding but there are quite a few items that are good for general use as well.  You can see all of the items HERE.  Be sure you choose the correct version - for PC or Mac - if you order.

It was a day full of people coming and going and working on scrapbooking projects, including some work on new projects to share soon.  I need to get some sleep so that's all for today  I am trying to keep the start of a cold from getting a chance to become a full blown cold and drinking lots of the "Airborne" fizzy tablets that are supposed to stop a cold - I hope it works!
