Downloads are active again - thanks for your patience

I finally got word that 4shared has unblocked my account.  Here is the message that I received:

We are sorry for the inconvenience, we have unbanned your files and your account.
IFPI banned your files by mistake. I would suggest you to rename them in order to avoid similar misunderstandings in the future.

I still don't understand why they would ban files without checking to see if they are in fact music files and I certainly have never heard of a song called "CAPADIA Double Stairstep Happy Happy PS.gypsy" but things should be back to normal.

When I tried to re-upload the file that caused all the trouble (after renaming it as suggested by 4shared) it still wouldn't work.  I have added an extra preview page that is meaningless to Gypsy users but did allow the file to upload.  Just ignore that page or delete it once you have the file on your Gypsy.  If you are having trouble with transferring files to and from your Gypsy, Narelle has a great explanation on her blog at THIS POST.  Be sure to leave her a thank you!

I have corrected the link on the original post - click HERE to got to the post and the links for the files are at the bottom of that post.

EDITED 1-6-11 TO ADD - I have spent so much time trying to get this fixed and incredibly, despite numerous emails and the "apology" from 4shared, the Plantin Schoolbook Gypsy file download which was working yesterday is again not working.  The same entity (IFPI) has made a claim about the file even though we have been in email communication for five days!  I am sorry that the file download is not working - please remember that it is a free file that I am giving to you (as I have done for years) and I don't seem to be able to control this problem despite repeated emails and assurance that the problem has been taken care of.
If you use a Windows computer you can download the trial version of the Design Studio software HERE and cut with George on the baby bug or Plantin Schoolbook on the Expression.  You can download the file for the plain circle version and add your own letters to the circles.  If you want to cut letters into the circles as I did in my design, be sure to use a font with stencil letters so the entire letter will be legible. There is information about how to add the letters to the steps at THIS POST and the plain circle files can be found at THIS POST.

If you are one of the readers who wrote in to ask me to email any other file please go to the original post and download the file directly.  I get a lot of email and I just did not have a chance to try to send out individual files.  I started this blog a few years ago primarily to make it easy for people to use my files and to prevent the need to email files over and over again!

I am so excited to show you what one of my readers has already done with this file.  Cathy has an very large extended family (I think she said over 80 people) and she makes cards for everyone.  She has a good system of choosing a certain style of card and then personalizing the cards to suit the recipients.  As luck would have it a fair number of people do have five letter names and when they don't, the two "happy" version works out fine.

Cathy sent me photos of the cards for January - she is already moving on to February!  I asked her permission to post these so you could get some ideas of how my original file can be altered.  She used the Martha Stewart Seasonal Cake Art cartridge for her letters and hid the outer frame lines.  You have to be sure to choose a stencil letter so there won't be missing pieces.  If you are working in Design Studio and you come back to the file you will need to "rehide" the frames around the letters.   There are usually only two lines in the design so you can't use the workaround I figured out and wrote about HERE.  If you are using the Gypsy, your frame line will stay hidden.

This was the first card that Cathy made for her brother.  I think the embossing adds a lot.  Cathy made a great choice with the Martha Stewart cartridge - all three Martha Stewart Crafts Cake cartridges have wonderful fonts.  Thanks Cathy for sharing your cards!

I am doing a series for Scrappy-Go-Lucky on the Martha Stewart cartridges so be sure to check in tomorrow to find out more about these great cartridges.

  2. I love this card because it seems so uncomplicated but yet very appealing. I love the step down effect with the word Happy and Donna. What a great idea. Thanks also for posting someone who can help me with the problem I have getting the files into my account then to my gypsy. I will check out her site.

  8. These are so beautiful! I would love to give it a try, but I don't have a gypsy, I'm a DS user. I tried to go back through your various links but when trying to download the George file for DS I could not get 4share to download. Do you perhaps have a different link? If so, could you please email me at lenfon@msn.com? Thank you so much for sharing your great creations and files.
    Regards,
    Lena Fonkert

  9. Hi Diane,
4shared is still blocking the one for Plantin Schoolbook, which happens to be the cart I have ;- ( Sorry to be a bother. I think the card is wonderful.

Thanks for all you do, it shouldn't be such a pain to be so helpful.
