I am home again, but only for a couple of days. I had a whirlwind trip to New Jersey and Pennsylvania and tomorrow I will be mailing the things we forgot to take back to college (if you remember something when you are halfway through Connecticut you just keep going!).
I did finally get my computer to accept the camera memory card so here are a couple of "from a moving car" photos to share. (These were taken by my son as I was driving). We saw the most beautiful sunset sky on Saturday - just before the Tappan Zee bridge.
It was a magnificent sight as we crossed the river. I wish I could have stopped the car to take photos. Here is an edited snippet - I'll have to hope you can get a feeling for what it was like. The river is very wide here (the bridge is over three miles long) and the sky always seems so big as you drive across.
I got home too late to do the demo/video on the scalloped heart but I will get to it in the morning. I did update my Design Studio and it looks like I will be needing Florals Embellished - just when I thought I could slow down the pace of cartridge acquisition! I also like the frames on Formal Occasion.
To update your Design Studio, go to this LINK and download the font pack. It still says that it is from November and has the November cartridges listed but when you click to download you will get the latest cartridges. You will need to be signed in to the cricut.com site in order to download the update. Be sure to save the file to your desktop and then run it.
You can see that the newest carts are included when you get to this screen. Just click to install and then restart your Design Studio to be able to work with the new images. Some people have reported seeing the new cartridges for sale already at Michael's (and using the Joann's sale price to price match).
To update your Gypsy you will need to use the Cricut Sync program. If you haven't already downloaded it, you can find it HERE. I didn't get a chance to do the Gypsy update yet because it usually takes so long to download and install - I'll try tomorrow.
This is my car telling me that it is time to go to Southern California - Mandy and Jane are on their way from Australia already! There will be lots to tell you about in the coming week.
One more thing I want to mention for those of you who use the Creative Memories Storybook software - there is a special sale on "love" themed digital content that ends Tuesday at midnight (central time). Here is the LINK to the page on my Creative Memories personal website if you want to see the items on sale. They are 50% off which is a great deal (and very rare for CM!). The month long sale (20% off ) on albums, pages and protectors is also continuing until January 31st - this LINK will take you to the page where they all are listed. I am happy to help you with questions and orders if you don't have a local consultant.
Tuesday is also the last day to vote in the Cosmo Cricket Design Team contest. It looks like a very long shot for me at this point but I do thank you all for your support and kind words. I wasn't really prepared to be in a competition - I never thought that there would be enough nominations! I have only used their products a few times but I really like them and there are some great new lines coming out soon. If you haven't voted yet and want to here is the LINK.
Please check back later today - I should have the video and tutorial finished. We have a broken garage door spring so I will be "trapped" at home until we can get the second car out! I am trying to sort through the email and comments/messages and hope to be caught up later in the day.

Beautiful pictures. I used to live on Long Island and we had a cabin in the Adirondacks, so I traveled the Tappan Zee bridge often. I loved the views.
ReplyDeleteI thinking how pretty it was the first time we drove over the Tappan Zee bridge on our way to MA. It was a while ago, but I also remember getting gas in CT & thinking that I can't believe we paid $2.38 - lol! Oh to go back to those days.
ReplyDeleteHave a great trip & enjoy the warm weather!
I just had to say thank you for sharing your beautiful pictures of the sunset with us. I too enjoy a beautiful sunset and that one was absolutely gorgeous. I could only imagine how beautiful it was in person.
ReplyDeleteThank you for telling us this!I went looking yesterday & didn't download because of the November date - but definitely will now because I can't wait to see the carts either :)
ReplyDeleteGreat shots......So beautiful....Love the card and the colors. I love snowflakes of any kind. I won some SCAL software and have no idea how to start to learn how to use it........
ReplyDeleteI did find out how to check and see if I have the correct software on my Expression.
The photos are awesome. I hope you had a great trip. I've just given you a stylish blogger award. Stop by my blog to pick it up. :)
