Simple Season's Greetings and Sales!
The Holiday Season is upon us - it seems like summer just ended a few weeks ago and now there are only 29 days left until Christmas! This is the simple card that I couldn't upload the other day. I used the Imagine again - it is always fun to experiment with something new! Please remember that most of the projects I show that are made using the Imagine can be recreated using your regular Cricut and cartridges and patterned paper. They won't be exactly the same but the layout and concepts can easily be transferred.
I used a frame shape from the Imagine More cartridge and separated the layers. I filled the layers with patterns from the Snow Angel cartridge that I had cached in the machine. You can cache up to three papers and use them with images from another cartridge (you will find a quick explanation of the process in THIS POST). The Christmas tree image is from the Snow Angel cartridge as well.
I added some red Stickles glitter glue to the tree on each red dot. This is another way to add sparkle if you don't have any sticker gems handy.
When I printed and cut the tree, I used a textured cardstock. There are lots of ways to vary the print produced by the Imagine by varying the color and texture of paper you choose to print on.
I simply layered the frame directly on the card (Scarlet Jewel cardstock from Papertrey Ink) and then used foam squares to pop up the tree.
A simple silver "peel off" greeting finishes the card. I could have added more layers and complexity to the card with embossing and stitching and other time consuming methods but sometimes a straightforward and simple card is just as effective and will lower your stress level when you are trying to make a large quantity of cards to send for the holidays. Each additional step, when multiplied by the number of cards you are producing will greatly increase the total time it will take to finish your cards. So keep it simple and remember, sometimes "finished is better than perfect!"
Snce it is Black Friday - I must tell you about just a few sales going on right now...
There are some special Jingle Deals available from Creative Memories starting this weekend. If your order is $25 or more, you pay only $1.99 shipping. This would be a great time to think about ordering the Reminisce Accents or Cheerful Seasons cartridges - the normal shipping for the two cartridges would be $9.35 (and the usual minimum shipping fee is $8.50 if you order just one cartridge and nothing else).
If your online order totals $225, you will receive five items worth a total of over $90.00 for FREE! This includes a Merry and Bright paper album kit, a tape runner, Winter Cheerful Paper 12 x 12 additions, Winter Reminisce Paper 12 x 12 Additions and an Exclusive 12 x 12 Winter album - you can see these items HERE.
Photo gifts from the Digital Center are also on sale. You can save 20 percent on Photo Panels, Mugs, Wall Prints, Mouse Pads and T-shirts. All are perfect gifts for the holiday season!
These offers are valid online only from 12:00 a.m. CT Nov. 26th, to 11:59 p.m. CT on Dec. 6th.
There is also a Facebook special from Creative Memories. If you purchase the Nancy O'Dell Hummingbird Tote Bag (it looks like a purse and will hold an album and some supplies for a crop), you will get her new book, "Full of Love" (normally $19.95) FREE. This offer is only good through Tuesday, November 30th, while supplies last. There will be another special Facebook offer on December 1st, so be sure to check the Creative Memories Facebook Page to find out about that.
Joann's has a doorbuster special on Friday and Saturday - in stores and online. You can get the original Cricut for only $59.99 - the lowest price I have ever seen in a store.
If you don't like Black Friday crowds you will be happy to know that the Walmart Cricut special items are available to order online at Walmart.com. There are six limited edition Lite cartridges (Cupcake, Four Legged Friends, Inspired Heart, Jolly Holidays, Twinkle Toes, Zoo Day) that are priced at $20 each. There are also four "Fashion Color" Expression machines in green, plum, canary and aqua for $185. The Expression machines come with the new Classic Font and Playtime Lite cartridges. You can do site to store free shipping and you can also choose a Fed Ex location as an alternative to a Walmart store for pick up - free shipping if you pick up from the store or Fed Ex location. When I checked standard shipping it was only $4.97 which seems incredibly low for a machine.
The Creative Charms Black Friday weekend special is continuing until Sunday night. You can see the details and order HERE.
The Lettering Delights sale is also continuing. Just use the code "GiveThanks" at checkout. You can save 40% on any size purchase and use the code as often as you want until December 2nd at midnight mountain time.
There are many other deals to be had this weekend - so happy shopping, No matter whether it is live or virtual shopping, I hope you get some bargains.
We had a lovely Thanksgiving and were able to video chat with our sons in Japan along with their Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Grandparents, etc. We are grateful for such amazing technology which allowed us to see and hear each other for about half an hour and all for free!

Thanks for the great card. I wish I could get a few more of the Imagine carts to make homemade Christmas cards with less paper piecing. It is such a great machine. Thanks for having such a helpful blog. You sure work hard at it!
