Hello Thursday (and some reminders)

Yesterday was "Hello Thursday" and three new Cricut cartridges were announced.  "Shall We Dance" is the second quarter Cricut Circle Exclusive cartridge and "Birthday Bash" and "Nifty Fifties" are full cartridges that will be available soon.

You can see the full cartridge handbooks in the Cartridge Library under the Information tab on the Cricut.com site.  I have saved the sample pages to give you some idea of the style of each cartridge here.

At first glance, my favorite is the Nifty Fifties cartridge.  I think it will be fun to work with the nostalgic images on this cartridge. Click HERE for the full cartridge handbook.

Birthday Bash is another cute cartridge but I think I have a sufficient quota of sweets and cute animals to use for my cards and pages. I may change my mind but this one is on the "maybe" list.  Click HERE for the full handbook (I had a problem with the download not completing but it might work for you).

Shall We Dance is a cartridge that I don't really "need" but I think I can find some bits and pieces of it to use.  As a Circle member, I will be receiving this cartridge so I'll need to get creative with the possibilities here.  Click HERE for the full handbook.

You can see some great projects using these cartridges on Joy's blog, Melanie's blog, Robyn's blog and Tammy's blog.

Gypsy and Design Studio updates for these cartridges should be available soon - the Hello Thursday email said they were available, however, I did not find an update when I checked.

Here are a few sale reminders and other bits of information.

The Creative Charms Deal of the Month for September is still available.  There is a choice of boy or girl versions of the deal and it is $7.99 for a $24 retail value (that's why they call it a deal!).  Here is a LINK to the Deal of the Month page on the Creative Charms site.  There are some additional sale items that might be interesting to you - here is a LINK to the sale page.

Creative Charms has teamed up with different stores to help promote their Breast Cancer Awareness Crops.  If you live near either of these places you may want to attend.
  • Scrap Pink Crop
    • Saturday, September 25th 10am - 7 pm
    • $20 ($10 will be donated back to breast cancer research)
    • Includes: table space, use of equipment, snacks and beverages, give-aways and dinner
    • Location: Crop Shop - Greensburg, PA  724-832-3004
    • http://www.thecrop-shop.com/
  • Save the Girls Scrap Pink
Thanks for all of your support to this worthy cause.

I also want to remind those of you who use the Creative Memories StoryBook Creator 3.0 software that the sale on Digital Artwork Downloads is still going on and you can save 30% from now until September 21st.  You can also save on printed StoryBooks - here is a LINK to the page with more information.

I created the Halloween paper above by adding color to some word art from the Primary Halloween Power Palette Addition  and adjusting the sizes, then repeating the design while turning it at 90 degree rotations.  I am hoping that eventually we will be able to use digital papers that we have created with the new Imagine machine - that would really make the possibilities endless.

Dollar Days

The Lettering Delights Dollar Days Sale is still going on.  Nearly everything on the site is $1.  Here is a coupon code for $5 off a $15 purchase ABC123 (please note, the code might be for $5 off a $20 purchase - it was listed both ways in the notice I received).  You can support my blog by clicking the box above or in the left side bar to go to the Lettering Delights website.

I had a little mini - vacation today.  A friend who used to live in town invited a group of us to visit her at her new home on Cape Cod.  The photo at the top of this post is the view from her backyard - truly amazing.  We were very lucky with the weather as it is now windy and rainy.  I'll be back to a regular "crafty" post tomorrow I was gone most of the day today

  4. Thanks for the wonderful information as always! I think PC missed the boat on giving the Shall We Dance cart as the Circle exclusive. I think that most of the scrappy girls in my financial category with young children would love to have saved up and bought this cartridge for their little girls. I'm not so sure it is what most of the Circlets are looking for. I could be wrong but thought I would share anyway. Thanks as always!
