Family Time (and an exciting week ahead...)

This weekend our older son was here for a quick visit.  He has to be in New York for his job next week and was able to add a side trip to see us.  My father-in-law's birthday was last Thursday so we had most of our local family members here for a combined birthday/welcome home party.

Our niece drew the picture at the top of this post for Grandpa's card - I think she did a fantastic job right down to the cutlery (properly set!) and the detail on the cake plate.

The real "birthday boy" is a bit older than the one in the drawing - it was his trombone birthday (if you don't know what that means I'll tell you tomorrow).

It was so nice to have both of our sons home.  Here are all of "the guys" - our younger son got a rather drastic haircut last week!  Our oldest son is standing on a higher step in this photo - he is not that much taller than his dad and brother!

I have to admit that the only papercrafting I did today was folding these hats for our nephews (yes they are triplets).  Our niece (the artist) is with them in this photo.  We finally got a chance to be outside after a stormy day which forced us inside for our meal.

With all of the family activities this weekend, I did not get a chance to go to a Walmart store to check and see if the new Cricut Lite cartridges are available in our area.  I think these cartridges are the ones that were meant to be revealed next week on "Hello Thursday" but the message boards are full of posts from people who are finding them already on sale in some Walmart stores.

The coming week is going to be very busy.  Would you like a chance to win all four of the cartridges revealed on the last Hello Thursday (Cindy Loo, Freshly Picked, Mini Monsters and Wall Decor and More)?  Then you'll want to participate in the International Blog Hop sponsored by Scrappy-Go-Lucky

Starting June 7th, you can visit the blogs of each of the Scrappy-Go-Lucky Design Team members and have a chance to win a prize on each blog.  You will need to collect the letters that will be displayed in each blog post, figure out the anagram, then email your answer to Mandy to be entered in the random draw for the set of four cartridges - what a great prize!  Here is a LINK to the first post by Mandy (it is already Monday the 7th in Australia!).

I'll also have some projects I made with the Creative Charms June Deal of the Month to share later this week.  There is so much in the June deal bundle that I had a hard time choosing which items to feature.

There is one more thing that I am excited about that I think will be happening this week - more about that in a day or two...

  1. Your son looks so different with his haircut !!! When my sun (#3) was 15, he dyed his hair blue, added a mixture of Elmers blue and hair on his hair, and fixed it up forming sikes all over. He is now 24, and when he looks back, he feels embarassed. LOL Martha Caballero
