Flower Star Medallion Card
A few days ago I shared a digital image I created using a vintage image I got from Twisted Papers (here is a LINK to that post).
This is the full 12 x 12 page image. I copied, pasted and resized my final image to create a sheet of images that I could print at home (I do not have a wide format printer).
Here is a screen shot of the 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of images I created to use for cards. The small images are 2 1/4 inches and the larger images are 3 3/4 inches.
I cut out several layers for my medallion. The lace background is a 3 1/4 inch square piece of Core'dinations Gemstone cardstock. This is the smallest size that will work for the Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page corner and border punch sets.
Here is a LINK to the page on the Martha Stewart site where you can watch a video showing exactly how to use the punch sets.
The Core'dinations Gemstone cardstock punched beautifully. The punch set I used is called "Double Loops." I used large foam squares to raise up the entire medallion - this gives an interesting shadow effect.
I rounded the corners of my digital image with my Creative Memories corner rounder. The degree of rounding does not exactly match the punch result. The red layer is just a bit larger to help the digital image pop and it covered the tiny areas with the slightly different curve.
I haven't added a sentiment. This could be used as a notecard as it is (with a light color paper liner) or you could add a sentiment near the bottom of the card. I would probably cut a sentiment with my Cricut in the same cardstock as the lace medallion.

That is so elegant. The colors are so rich. I'm definitely going to have to try some Twisted Papers pictures. I love MS punches.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty. Love the way the layers came together!

Wow! Very pretty I really like the looks of the Martha S. punch. I hadn't seen that punch used.
ReplyDeleteThank you

I'm amazed at the quality of colours on your printout of the twisted paper images. What kind of printer do you have? A very pretty card that would be nice for writing a note to Grandma!
ReplyDeleteHi Karen,
ReplyDeleteI have a pretty standard printer that came bundled with my first laptop four years ago. It is an HP All-In-One C 3180. There is probably a newer model by now.
I print my digital designs on matte photo paper at best quality. I have been happy with the results.
