Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to comment about my two years of blogging. I have been feeling the love while reading your encouraging words! There have been some questions and I am trying to get back to everyone so thanks for your patience. I am still happy to receive any feedback on my blog format if you are just catching up with reading the blog now.
It took me all day to get the celebration gifts sorted out while I was also working on other things. Now I can post my blogoversary gifts to thank you for your support. You can comment on this post or any post to be included - I will draw some random names from all of the comments left this week. If you would like to become a follower or subscribe, please do - but it is not required to be included in the celebration. If there is a gift you would not want to receive (because you have it or just don't care for it!) please be sure to let me know in your comment.
Last September, my husband and I went to Italy (along with the Gypsy!). I made a few posts about the trip and our adventures. While I was there, I did a little shopping with the idea that I'd have a chance to offer some token gifts to readers when I returned. I am finally getting the chance to do this!
Gift #2 is a bracelet made from Murano glass beads. I found this in a shop in Lucca near the square where we had the best ice cream ever. It has an elastic base which stretches to slide over your wrist (you could also take it apart and use the beads as you like).
Gift #3 is a small folder with 10 correspondence cards and envelopes in the typical Florentine style with touches of gold. The cards are flat single sheets with a lovely border and could be used as journal boxes or layered on a card that you create. The envelopes have a printed lining with gold accents.
Gift #4 is three sheets of handmade marbled paper that I bought in a shop in Siena. The blue and orange sheets are about 8 x 11.5 inches and the red sheet is 6.5 x 7.5 inches.
The other very handy item they sent me was a "Scrap-Ma-Bob" which clamps to your table and holds a drink and a small scrap bag. I have one of these to give away as Gift #6.
Many of you have lots of Design Studio questions and are sometimes shy about asking them - so the final Gift (#7) is a one hour private Design Studio help session. This will be done online so you do need to have a good internet connection but you can be anywhere in the world - we will just have to set up a convenient time.
I will draw seven names from the comments I receive this week. If you have left contact information, I will send you an email. I will also post the names and comments that are chosen on Sunday. If I don't hear from any of the people chosen with their mailing information within three days, I'll choose another name.
The rest of the week will probably be crafty posts, however, I have learned from the comments left that a lot of you don't mind the element of surprise - so something else may show up too!
Wow! How wonderful of you! I love your designs and how willing you are to help others. Thanks again.

ReplyDeletewhile I look forward to your daily posts, I don't think you should feel that you "have to" continue to post daily. You are such a busy woman; the last thing we would want is for you to feel that posting daily is a chore that you no longer enjoy.
All of your gifts are lovely and so generous - I would be thrilled to receive any of them!
What a wonderful giveaway!

Posts with advice and tips, shared designs and cut files, teaching through Let Me Show you How to do That as well as answering ? through private emails and PMs, sharing bits of your family life with us (I love to hear family stories); the list could go on.
ReplyDeleteYour so kind to offer such nice gifts to all of us. Several of them are very appealing to me (the ribbon holder, and the one on one teaching) but of course I would be happy to be lucky enough to receive any of the wonderful gifts that you are so thoughtfully offering.

Congatulations on your two years. I just discovered your blog recently and I AM TOTALLY IN AWE of everything that you do and your generosity in sharing your knowledge. I love scrapbooking but have not been able to dedicate much time to it since I became the sole caregiver to my 95 year old Mom. None-the-less, I love to read everything that you write, I save it an hope to some day be able to dedicate my time to my lover for scrapbooking. I wish you continued success.

ReplyDeleteI enjoy your daily posts, but I know first hand about "burn out" and I'm afraid if you keep this up you will soon be heading there. You have an amazing talent, but trying to come up with a new idea daily is too much for anyone. None of us would mind if you skipped days now and then. I love your surprises and even though some sites have special days set aside I like your site done the way you do it now. Congratualions on your anniversary.

Diane - I discovered your blog a month-and-a-half ago, when my kids got me a Baby Cricut for my birthday, and it has become one of the few that I return to time and again when I need info on how to do something. I have bookmarked hundreds of Cricut blogs, but yours is a favorite. Two of the things I like best: that you label the names of your cut files with the cartridges used to create them - thank you! - and you do not forget those of us that don't have George. My machine was second-hand, and the woman that sold it to my kids kept the George cartridge, so I borrow the Plantin cartridge that my daughter owns to create designs. There are so many cut files out there created using George, and I do hope to get that cartridge someday, but your use of Plantin for "us" in so many instances is very much appreciated. You're my hero! :?)
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful blog candy you are giving away. Love everything you share with us.

Diane, Congratulations on the anniversary of your blog. I know it is a lot of work, but you have helped so many of us understand the Design Studio. Thank you and thank you for offering such a great give-a-way. The private tutorial sounds like a dream come true. Thanks again.
ReplyDeleteDonna
your blog is awesome Diane! I look forward every day to seeing what new ideas you have for us. Thanks for sharing your creativity.
ReplyDeleteJulie
I would love to spend a private session with you in Design Studio, since I only use it to cut one or two items at a time. I have not tried doing a project on it. I follow you daily and am so happy to be able to celebrate your anniversary with you. Congrats and I look forward to many more years of your creative talents being shared.
ReplyDeleteLove your designs and am enjoying reading your blog. Happy anniversary.
ReplyDeleteDiane...congratulations on your 2 year blogoversary. I have been a follower of your blog for about 1 year, but I am constantly searching through the entire blog to review a previous posting or to just look at your designs. I have also taken several of your and Jen C's classes on LMSYHTDT. These were so much fun as well as educational. I had DS for well over a year and was so intimidated by it that I wouldn't even install it on my computer. I found one of your posts on the Cricut MB, then your blog, and the rest is history. I love to read your posting each day; it doesn't matter whether it contains some new design, or photos and family content. It just seems like I am reading a letter from a dear friend. I think I would recognize you, your husband and your youngest son anywhere. I just haven't seen enough pics of your older son and your dad to be sure yet. Ha Ha Finally, I want to thank you for sharing your incredible life and talent with us. I would love for you to continue to post every day, but will certainly understand if you reduce that to a few times a week.
ReplyDeleteBest Wishes, Karen Varney

ReplyDeleteWell another milestone today (if this goes through) This is the 1st time I have posted 2x's on the same blog!!!! Recovering from a head injury has been very challenge and since my speech, memory and grammar all affect, leave comments has been hard. I hope to get all the grammar down good so I don't sound so bad when I get the courage to comment. Thank you or the giveaway chance and congratulations on your 2 years.
