Twenty Nine Years Ago...
Today is our 29th Wedding Anniversary so this post is very short! The card above was made with some "leftovers" from another project that I will share in a day or two. I put it at the top of this post so my wedding photos wouldn't be showing up in the blog lists on all of the blogs that link to me.
The wedding doesn't seem so long ago - until I look at the photos and see how young (and skinny!) we look.
The littlest flower girl in this photo is now 32 and has been married for over six years. The ring bearer is married with two children and the older flower girl is engaged and will be married in September.
Here we are with our parents. My mother passed away in 1996, but we are lucky to still have my Dad and my husband's parents (who just celebrated their 55th anniversary).
I never made a wedding scrapbook, in fact, we never even ordered wedding photos so I only have the original shots. I took them out of the photo sleeves they were in a couple of years ago because the adhesive that holds the sleeves together had disintegrated and left some white residue on the edges of some photos.
One of my goals for the coming year is to put together an album in time for our 30th anniversary. I will have to do a lot of touch up on the older photos that I have scanned, however, since we were married "pre-digital," I don't have thousands of them to sort through. I do still have all of the "memorabilia" to include (which is pretty incredible considering the number of times we have moved since getting married).
Thanks for taking a short trip down Memory Lane with me.

Nice photos, we celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary in July. It would be interesting to see you photo on all the pages. Thank you for sharing you memories.
ReplyDeleteWe ( my children and I) loved your holiday photos. The luminaries are just perfect. We live in California. so we can only dream of that happening here. If we even try we might start a fire with all the dry plants nearby.
Congratulations on you anniversary!

ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary! I can't wait to see what you come up with. I do have some photos but haven't done much with them yet. Guess I was waiting till I became a great scrapbooker but maybe it's time. We got married in 1978.

HUGS!
Twenty Nine Years of Marriage, wow-wee, that is fantastic. I showed your posting to my husband and the first comment he said was that you are more beautiful today! I agree! We agreed your smile is the same and it automatically places a smile on our face. Your eyes have a beautiful sparkle and you are a person who just announces just how happy you are in life! Of course, your family and your Husband of 29 years today had a large part of that success. So congratulations and much love to you and your husband. Have a happy anniversary today. And get started on your scrapbook for your 30th!
ReplyDeleteBig Hugs,
Sher
Congratulations! I only wish I had as many photos as you have. We will be married 49 yrs in June and have 4 scratchy pictures. We aren't even standing next to each other! May you continue to be as happy as you are now.

Diane. Congratulations and thanks for sharing the photos. We celebrated our 47th in December. We do not even have one photo as the film messed up on the photographer and he did not realize it until it was too late and we were gone!!
ReplyDeleteDec 30th was our 29th anniversary also. I have few pictures (had a neighbor take the "official" photos for us) because I have never liked the way I look in a photograph, but like you I feel like I should do some sort of memory book... Maybe I'll copy your goal of a wedding album by the 30th anniversary if you don't mind. :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Happy Anniversary, and thanks for sharing your wedding photos! Those are always so much fun to look at - no matter whose they are!

Congratulations!!
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a Great day together! Wow, 29 years!!
Congrats on 29 years. You look so young. I'm right behind you coming up on 28. We were such cuties then. I look back too at my few pictures and think??? Where did the time go? Enjoy your anniversary.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations and may you have many more happy years!! I know what you mean about how young and skinny we all were when we wed (we will celebrate 45 years in Aug. 2010 and we actually started dating in Jr. High so we've been together over 50 years!!) Beautiful pics! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteJackie
Happy Anniversary to you & your Hubby Diane!!! 1 year later, and 4 days, I was married to my HS sweetheart. Unfortunately, it didn't last, but I have a wonderful son, so no regrets!!! I always thought my January wedding was very pretty, and I see yours was as well!!!
ReplyDeleteI wish you continued Happiness, and Joy!!! Thanks for all your wonderful posts and all the sharing of projects as well as your life!!!
God Bless,
Lisa Sturgill
