Another Scalloped Monogram Card (by request)

A blog reader asked in the comments to my last post if there was another card which had the scallop edge since she does not have the New Arrival cartridge. I couldn't think of one off the top of my head but I realized that I could design another version of the card using only Plantin Schoolbook - so I did....

I test cut this version using a two sided card stock - the effect is pleasant when you see the contrasting side of the paper on the scalloped edge so you may want to give this a try - just make sure that it is a good weight of paper to be sturdy enough for a card.

Here you can see the inside of the card with the liner.

I missed taking a photo of the scoring of the card for my last post so I have added one here. When you use the ScorPal and need an increment other than one-half inch you use the extra measurements in the top left and right corners to make the necessary adjustment. Here I have the card front edge aligned at the 1/4 inch mark so that when I score on the 8 inch mark I will have a score line 3 3/4 inches from the edge. Works like a charm!

One more test cut - in another solid cardstock - the letters I used for these are also from the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge.

So now I suppose more of you will be able to make these note cards. Have fun making these in many variations - I'd love to see some of them!

  1. Thanks Susan! It is with an "S" as well so i didn't have to ask how to do it with an S.

  4. Thank you so much for doing this in Plantin. My last name starts with an S, so I suppose I can use this also! And I have a great friend whose name is Sue and would make a great set of cards for her.

  5. I love all of these cards. But I don't have either of these carts. :( Can it be done in George?

  6. Your work is fabulous as always - thank you for being so generous. If I can get anywhere with the customer service department at Cricut and get my Design Studio re activated, I'll be trying these note cards - they are a fabulous idea!
