Adjustable Ticket Punch
Back in September, Linda (a blog reader from Australia) contacted me about making adjustable scalloped circles and also about a "ticket corner" punch she wanted to create in Design Studio.
I posted the adjustable scalloped circle done in George in early October (here is a LINK to the post). I was "cleaning up" my Cricut Projects folder and found all sorts of things I hadn't posted and the adjustable ticket punch file is one of these.
I originally created this in George but I later added a Plantin Schoolbook version. The cut they produce looks like this (the pink center portion).
When using the original file circles are cut into the corners and they each have a quarter wedge cut into the circle (as you can see in the photo below).
The actual amount of paper used to cut the file should be slightly larger than the finished size desired to be sure that the paper will not snag the blade.
When using the George cartridge, it is possible to create the file using the silhouetted shape which produces the ticket shape and a usable frame as you can see below.
If you allow a small margin of paper around the ticket shape, the Plantin Schoolbook file and the first George file will create this frame (it makes me think of Mickey Mouse a little bit...)
The various versions are labeled on the pages of the file - just copy and paste the version you want to use and you can resize it to fit your project. If you adjust it proportionately, using the handle in the lower right, the corners will look the same as they do in these photos. If you stretch or squish the file using the vertical only or horizontal only handles the shape of the corner cutouts will distort a bit.
I am trying a different service for sharing this file - the link in the post will lead to a download page which has a clear place to leave a comment. This should help those of you who wish to comment on the blog but have had computer problems which prevent you from doing this. Remember, you can leave a comment as "anonymous" on my blog - just leave your name in the actual comment so I know you were here - Thanks!
